2012 Martin DRS1 :: new bone saddle.
This guitar has been in the shop quite a few times as the top and neck move around quite a bit. I had previously made a bone saddle for it and now that winter is coming, the top is fairly flat and the action is low. Knowing the history of this guitar, I decided to make a new bone saddle as opposed to shimming up the existing one. The theory behind this is that when the humidity comes up next spring, the customer can swap saddles to adjust the action. That being said, I recommended that the customer do his best to keep the guitar humidified around 40-50%.
