Lefty 2003/2012 Fender American Deluxe Stratocater [8.0 lbs] :: setup

Here's a left handed 2003 Fender Deluxe Strat body with a 2012 Custom Shop neck.  This came in with a very high neck set over the body.  The Micro Tilt screw in the neck pocket was engaged which allows you to quickly dial in the neck angle if necessary.  I am not a fan of the Micro Tilt as it is a single screw that pushes up the rear of the neck and acts as a single-point shim.  The better alternative is to use a traditional wood shim with as much contact in the joint as possible.  This guitar did not require the neck to be shimmed as I backed off of the Micro Tilt and dropped the bridge down.  Lefties are always a trip to play test!

A new guitar enters the world!!! :: 2016 Chubbuck Mousa 003 hollowbody (teaser)

It's alive!  Finally!!!  The Chubbuck Mousa 003 was finished up this week and the new owner is in the early stages of breaking it in.  I am extremely happy with how this one came out - sounds amazing for only being a couple days old.  This site will soon be updated with more studio photos, details, etc so check back in at chubbuckguitars.com/hollowbody/mousa003.  I'm also working on putting together some demo videos so you can hear it for yourself.  In the meantime, check out the video below to be hypnotized!

Mastery, Lollar & Novak :: 2013 Squire Telecaster [8.7 lbs]

A Squire Tele that recently got decked out with a new Mastery Bridge (and string tree), Lollar Special T pickup in the neck and a Curtis Novak in the bridge.  Quality hardware like this takes a mediocre budget guitar and ups it's feel and tonal response considerably.  She's strung with DR Pure Blues 11-50.

Mastery Vibrato :: 1997 Fender Jaguar [9.2 lbs]

This killer Japanese Jag has been in the shop a few times before.  One time for a Mastery Bridge install, Lollar pickups installed and again for a Curtis Novak middle pickup install (here and here).  Now it's back in for some finishing touches including new tuners, a Mastery string tree and a Mastery Vibrato (with UFO tip).  All I can say is that this is one of the best, most versatile guitars I've worked on.  The player that owns this guitar is a monster and I love hearing him play it when he brings it by.  Dammit, now I need a 3 pickup (Lollar / Novak) Mastery Jag!

Custom reclaimed pine Tele Esquire [7.3 lbs] :: new neck & assembly

Custom reclaimed pine Tele Esquire [7.3 lbs] :: new neck & assembly

This body is made from an old pine board from a barn with a bunch of nails, imperfections and all.  It arrived at the shop in parts with a new Mighty Mite neck.  The body neck screw holes didn't line up with the neck plate, so I needed to plug three of the four holes and re-drill them.  After the body mounting holes were corrected, the the new neck's heel had it's mounting holes drilled.  The bridge was located and mounted and wired up with a new Lollar Special T bridge pickup.  I love the vibe of this reclaimed body.
