TonePros bridge swap :: 2013 Gibson ES-335 TDC [7.8 lbs]

The player of this 335 found that the stock nylon saddles were not yielding the tone he was looking for.  For a quick experiment, I pulled the TonePros bridge on my 1986 Howard Roberts Fusion and installed it on his 335.  He liked the results of the metal saddles better so we decided to swap out the stock bridge.  I ended up lightly distressing the new bridge to match the existing hardware.  The new bridge was laid out, notched and set up in the vlog video below.

Setting the truss rod on this year-old Gibson was a compromise that yielded excessive relief (bow) on the bass side and not enough relief (back bow) on the treble side.  Luckily there was enough fret height to allow this twist to be corrected by leveling the frets.

One of the tone pots was not rolling off any treble so that is a sure sign of a broken lead.  I pulled the harness and found that the pot did not have a path to ground.  Also the output jack was poorly wired, so I clipped and resoldered the connection.  Once the circuit was repaired, everything was stuffed back in, tightened up and proceeded with the setup.
