Intermittent Volume :: 2010 Pederson NS II [6.3 lbs]

A dirty master volume pot was causing intermittent output for the player of this hollowbody.  The volume is a push-pull coil tap that was removed, sprayed with DeoxIT and reinstalled.  Also a failing plastic output jack plate (cracked) was replaced with a metal plate.

The bridge is a LR Baggs T-Bridge with piezo saddles for a more acoustic tone and can be blended in with the magnetic pickups or on it's own.

Late 1960's Trini Lopez :: volume pot destruction

<Sigh> just what I thought - someone glued this neck pickup volume knob to the shaft on this '60s Trini (actually, all knobs were glued). Tried heating the knob to release the glue but the glue bond trumped the shaft-to-pot connection. Bummer.  Oh well, it's going to be replaced along with the bridge volume pot (volume drops off around 8) with Emerson Custom Pro CTS pots.

2003 Tribute G&L L-2500 5 string bass [9.9 lbs] :: dirty pots & setup

This bass found it's way into the shop because of a dead pickup.  I troubleshooted the circuit and touched up a few questionable solder joints and the pickup came back to life.  While in the control cavity I attempted to clean the treble and bass pots but they remained terribly intermittent and needed to be replaced.  The bolt-on neck's angle was increased with a shim in the neck pocket in order to lower the action.
