Shipping Damage & Bridge Re-glue :: 1971 Guild D25 Brown [4.2 lbs]
An all-mahogany Guild dreadnought that came in with significant shipping damage on the bass side. The side cracks were glued and the finish repaired to help hide the damage. We also found that the bridge was lifting and cracked through the pin holes, so it was removed, repaired and re-glued.
Bridge Re-glue :: 1971 Guild D25 Brown
A shipping-damaged Westerly Guild in for side repairs and a lifting bridge. Here the bridge has been removed, fit, glued and clamped with hot hide glue. The bridge was split though the pin holes so that was repaired as well.
Pulling dents & closing cracks :: 1971 Guild D25M
This side crack was damaged during shipping (shown here). Here is a dent that is being pulled shut with a guitar string, a cleat puller and a mahogany cleat inside the guitar. The spool clamps are closing the remaining crack. Next up will be installing a few more cleats on this crack, then addressing a couple other side cracks.
Failing Bridge :: 1971 Guild D25 Brown
A soft gooey glue joint is allowing this bridge to pull up from the mahogany top. It will be heated, removed, refit and re-glued. There are also small cracks in the Brazilian bridge between the bridge pin holes, so they will be repaired as well.
