Dried out top crack & bridge re-glue :: 1993 Martin 000-16 [4.1 lbs]

Low humidity caused a top crack that ran from the low E bridge pin to the tail.  The bridge was also beginning to lift, so it was removed and the top crack repaired.  Finally the bridge was refit and glued with hide glue.

This Martin suffered from low humidity and required the failing bridge to be removed, fit and re-glued (hot hide glue) along with a top crack repair.

'Tis the season of low humidity up here in the northeast and this Martin fell prey.  I humidified the crack closed and then glued the crack as seen above.  The crack will be further reinforced with small cleats from underneath.

The bridge was removed here.

Cooking off a lifting bridge on a Sunday morning.  This Martin also has a top crack running from the low E string bridge pin to the tail that needs to be addressed as well.
